Carole M. Gentry is a literary researcher specializing in American Indian, American, Multi-Ethnic, and Indigenous Siberian literature. She is proud of her heritage as a Luiseño tribal member of the California Band of Mission Indians (Pala). Her work has been exhibited in Saint Petersburg, Florida and she works predominately with vintage polaroid cameras using both expired and new film. Her favourite cameras are her first generation SX-70, 680 SLR, and the Land Camera 250. She is currently working on a book of polaroids and words entitled, « The Whispers of Little Birds : An Archeological Exploration of Self », focusing on how she views the world and herself as an indigenous woman. She continues working as much as possible despite having Stage IV Metastatic Colon Cancer for the past three years.
